About the Fireplaces
Mike Randall is the original designer of the Morepork Outdoor fireplaces. After building himself an outdoor fire he soon found that friends and family wanted one too and so the kitset concept of Morepork fireplaces was born.
Morepork fireplaces are precast concrete panels that are pre-drilled and pre-bolted making it easy for you to assemble with everything you need provided in the kitset. The panels are flat packed on a pallet ready for despatch.
We can incorporate anything you wish into your fireplace. Send us your horseshoes, rocks from your garden, plaster cast hand prints or any other weather proof memorabilia that you like. You can choose a colour from a range of concrete colour additives and chemical stains to inspire really creative fires. You can even take the fireplace with you when you move house.
Morepork fireplaces come complete with chimney blocks, brackets, cooking grate and full instructions for assembly are provided. Installation takes two blokes about 40 minutes to complete and be ready to light the first fire.
About the Pizza Ovens
Morepork pizza ovens are also designed with DIY in mind and are a quick and superior alternative to a traditionally built pizza oven. The dome is made up of four pieces cast in refractory mortar with high heat retaining properties and we offer several kitset options depending on what stage in your project you are at. A decorative arch is provided with each pizza oven kitset with which you have a choice of finishes to suit the look you're after.
As with our fireplaces the installation process is straight forward with everything provided except for mortar plaster which is readily available at your local hardware store. A few hours of creative fun and you're ready to enjoy your very own wood fired culinary delights from the simple pizza to full blown family meals with distinction.
